Accessibility Upgrades Completed at KWMCC – December 2025
We rounded off 2025 on a high note with the successful installation of new accessibility doors to our Sports Hall.
As part of our ongoing commitment to improving inclusivity and expanding opportunities for wheelchair sports at KWMCC, we were honoured to welcome local Paralympian and double gold medallist Kevin Curtis, who officially opened the new doors with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. He is pictured alongside General Manager Stuart Lawson and Charity Secretary Rod Gibson.
We extend our sincere thanks to East Suffolk Council and Patricia Ferreira-Whittaker (Communities Officer for Kesgrave) for their generous support in funding these important upgrades to community facilities in the local area.
In addition to the new doors, we are pleased to offer wheelchair access to our regularly used Pétanque piste. These improvements mark another step forward in making our centre more accessible, and we look forward to welcoming new and emerging sports for people of all ages and abilities.
The new doors will also make access easier for parents and carers with buggies using the Sports Hall with younger siblings.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible.
